I started my working life in the hospitality industry here in Jersey. After a period away in the UK, I moved back to Jersey in 2017 with my family and took on the role of Group HR Manager for Dolan Hotels. 

In 2022 I set up my own recruitment agency specifically for the hospitality Industry focusing on bringing over suitable candidates for the industry and helping managers with the whole recruitment process. The business progressed to providing small local businesses with HR advice, assisting in not only recruitment but the whole onboarding process – including interviews, contracts, appraisals and disciplinary matters.

I also ran the Work Permit platform for the Jersey Hospitality Association, applying for individuals who needed immigration permissions to enter or remain in Jersey for work. 

I joined HR now this September as an HR advisor and with the fantastic support of this experienced team I hope to develop my all-round knowledge. HR now have provided me with a platform to be able to continue to support the small local business and support new clients in their HR needs.

As of the 31 December 2020 freedom of movement between the United Kingdom and the European Union ended and as such free movement to Jersey also ceased. I have worked with different Associations in Jersey to handle their work permits and will remain at hand at HR now to help out any businesses with their permit queries.

I enjoy the recruitment and onboarding side of HR, helping to effectively integrate new employees into a company by helping the clients provide everything their employee will need to carry out their role successfully.

What makes me smile?

Living on an island I spend a lot of time on the beach with my family and dog, I love sea swimming but I’m still very much a wetsuit swimmer! I love cooking, but mostly anything involving a BBQ and especially on BBQ smoker – so most meals tend to be cooked outside – even in December! Also wine and cheese make me smile.
