Karen Lysiak

HR Consultant

Karen is a highly experienced HR professional, who has worked in and with a wide variety of organisations within Jersey, and fully understands the unique environment in the Island. Her specialism includes guidance on HR policy and practice and employee relations, with the aim of facilitating creative, yet commercial and compliant business solutions.

Karen started her HR career with HSBC where she undertook a variety of roles including Training Executive, Resourcing Manager, and HR Manager. She also spent five years in the charity sector, working as Resources Manager for Jersey Hospice Care. As a member of the senior management team, she was involved in leading the transformation of JHC into a modern medical facility, supporting 90 members of staff and 500 volunteers.

Most recently, Karen has been Head of HR for Blue Islands, but has returned to HR Now as a Consultant, where she previously worked for several years. She enjoys the challenge of keeping an organisation compliant, while at the same time ensuring it can achieve its commercial and social objectives.

She is a member of the CIPD and holds an MBA in Managing Human resources, Strategic Development, Creativity, Innovation and Change, International Enterprise – Managing across borders.
