We are looking for a pro-active and analytical individual with financial and supervisory experience, to join our busy team at Visit Jersey.
You will own the day-to-day financial accounting management for Visit Jersey, and be responsible for planning, forecasting, budgeting and processing. The depth and breadth of this role (and therefore salary) is flexible to suit the skill and experience of the successful candidate. You will report to and work closely with the Head of Corporate Services and participate in business development, as appropriate and according to an agreed Training Plan.
This role is full-time at 37.5 per week, worked equally on Monday to Friday.

Support the Bookkeeper in carrying out their duties.
Manage purchase orders, billing software, process POs, invoices, and generate bills for electronic approvals.
Maintain, analyse and present financial reports.
Support departmental heads in managing and updating budget spreadsheets.
Update management in real time on the financial position of each department.
Maintain register of commitments and asset register.
Maintain and build relationships with external stakeholders.
Oversee reconciliations and expense claims and ensure compliance.
File the annual JFSC annual return and JOIC confirmation.
Oversee supplier payments in accordance with contractual commitments and act as first approval of bank payments in the absence of the Head of Corporate Services.

You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Services, and participate in business strategy meetings, as appropriate, to gain understanding of the wider role so as to stand in if required. You will ideally develop and provide support in the following areas:
The role of CoSec and corporate governance
Risk management, the risk register, and the Audit Committee
The role of Data Protection Lead and data protection compliance
Government relationships, grant application process, quarterly government meetings
IT product development for business purposes and requirements
HR processes and systems
Cyber security
Facilities management
Health and Safety
Contract drafting and RFP monitoring
Treasury management and grant investment
Intellectual property management
Annual reporting, financial statements, and C&AGs requirements.
Here's what we are looking for:
Someone with a can-do attitude and desire to develop and support the development of others. You should be resilient and able to work under pressure. Ideally, you should have:
3+ years working in a supervisory / team lead role.
Significant experience in accounts payable and receivable (in Corporate Services is desirable).
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Excel and formula application.
Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles (knowledge of Xero and ApprovalMax is desirable). Understanding of management accounts including P&Ls and balance sheets.
Proven project and time management skills.
Understanding of tax laws, auditing compliance and procedures.
An accounting qualification is desirable.
