Do you share a commitment to supporting Islanders with mental health disorders?
Would you like to join the board of My Voice as Honorary Treasurer?
My Voice is a highly respected, professional independent advocacy service providing vital support to islanders with serious mental health disorders.
They are a small Jersey charity and their clients are islanders who suffer from serious mental illness, or who lack capacity, or who have complex needs and who are unable to advocate for themselves.
This is a three year Director/Trustee position, with an option for re-appointment for a further three years. The Treasurer will be expected to provide the Board and CEO with technical advice and support on (all) financial matters, producing quarterly and annual reports, submissions to the Charities Commission and liaising with auditors, whilst providing oversight and support to the bookkeeper.
The time commitment required is variable, but typically averages 5-7 hours per month and there are normally four to six Board meetings each year, held at lunchtime in their St Helier office.
If you are part qualified or hold a recognised accountancy qualification (and experienced expert in the field) and want to help us achieve My Voice's vision of ensuring that individuals with mental health disorders are recognised as equal citizens, be treated with dignity and respect, and not suffer discrimination, then your application will be most welcome.
